What is Diigo?

Diigo (Digest of Internet Information, Groups and Other stuff) is a free social bookmarking tool used for collecting, organizing, accessing and sharing web-based information. Diigo can be used a a personal research tool where web pages of interest can be bookmarked for later reading. While reading, sticky notes and annotations can be added and key information can be highlighted for later use. Snapshots of web pages and annotated text can also be taken. Bookmarks and web annotations can then be organized in My Library by tags and lists and then shared with colleagues, using group bookmarking. When you join Diigo, you can upgrade to a free educator's account, allowing teachers to set up student accounts. Diigo can be used with most major web browsers, including Ipods and Ipads
